Job summary

Hutchinson Y is seeking a Sports Director to lead the branch’s Sports program, staff, budget and fundraising, while enhancing member experience and engagement. The role requires oversight of coaching quality, volunteer development and program operations at a brand new facility.

You will ensure adherence to YMCA standards, organize leagues, coordinate game days, and manage registrations across sports seasons. A 40-hour work week is typical, with relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 21
• One year management experience including hiring, firing, reviewing, and budget
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Sports program area, staff, budget and fundraising.
• Recruit, train and supervise volunteers and coaches.
• Oversee program operations and member engagement strategies to grow enrollment.
• Organize games, practices, and championships; coordinate officials and venues.
• Ensure safety, compliance with YMCA policies, and background checks for volunteers.
