Job summary

Greater Wichita YMCA is seeking a Sports Director to provide leadership and management for the branch's sports program area, including operations, staff, budgeting, fundraising, and member experience. A 40-hour work week is required.

Under the guidance of the Senior Program/Branch Director, you will recruit and develop coaches and volunteers, ensure program quality aligns with YMCA standards, handle scheduling, events, and communications with members and families.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21 and one year of management experience including hiring, firing, reviewing and budgeting.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting, training, developing, scheduling and managing a high-performing volunteer base focused on coaching for youth.
• Developing strategies to provide support and motivation to volunteers for goal achievement and retention.
• Documenting coaches meetings, development and trainings; ensuring all volunteers have background checks.
