Job summary

Buckeye Valley Family YMCA in Newark, OH is seeking an Entry Level Part-Time youth program assistant to supervise children and provide a safe, engaging environment aligned with YMCA values.

You will plan and lead developmentally appropriate activities, support parents, maintain accurate records, and uphold safety standards, including policies on medical and disciplinary situations. Previous experience with children and a commitment to inclusivity are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous demonstrated experience working with children and diverse populations.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, Communicable Disease and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision to children in a safe, enjoyable environment.
• Plan, lead and participate in a range of activities.
• Promote youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
• Support parents and participants, answering questions to help achieve goals.
• Maintain program records such as schedules and participant information.
• Adhere to safety standards and policies, including medical and disciplinary procedures.
• Assist in supervision of volunteers involved in sport or activity.
