Job summary

Buckeye Valley Family YMCA seeks a part-time School Age Coordinator to help lead a structured before/after school program for children aged 5–12 in Zanesville, OH. This role emphasizes YMCA values and creating a safe, engaging environment.

You will implement daily activities, maintain staff–child ratios, follow Ohio licensing and CACFP guidelines, communicate with families, and document attendance and incidents. A high school diploma (GED acceptable) and CPR/First Aid certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate/Bachelor in Child Development or Early Childhood Education preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required.
• Previous experience with children in a developmental setting.
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal).
• Experience working with diverse populations and building positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliability and safety of the before/after school program site.
• Maintain staff/child ratio as directed by leadership and licensing regulations.
• Adhere to health and safety requirements and program policies.
• Implement daily lesson plans and manage program supplies and setup/breakdown.
• Develop positive relationships with children and families and communicate program news.
