Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Part Time Youth Activity Aide in Houston, TX to plan and run activities for youth, promoting YMCA core values and ensuring a safe, engaging experience for children and their families.

You will teach sport drills, supervise games, maintain equipment, and record activities while collaborating with the Sports Director. A flexible schedule for evenings and weekends is required; CPR/First Aid/AED must be completed within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, AED within 30 days of hire.
• Oral, auditory and written communication skills.
• Keen desire to work with children in a positive manner.
• Flexible schedule to work evenings and weekends.
• Basic knowledge of sports.

Responsibilities

• Promotes YMCA values in all activities.
• Plans and teaches sport drills to grow participant skills.
• Facilitates informal games and scrimmages.
• Maintains program area and equipment; assists with setup/breakdown.
• Keeps required program records and engages members positively.
• Interacts calmly and professionally with coaches, players and parents.
• Assists in YMCA fundraising and events.
• Follows instructional curriculum and attends trainings.
