Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston seeks an energetic youth program facilitator to engage children and families in daily activities, promoting the YMCA's core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring and faith. You will plan and supervise sport drills, lead games, ensure safety, and foster positive, inclusive experiences for participants.

Preferred applicants have childcare exposure, can work evenings and weekends, and communicate effectively with children and adults.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, AED within 30 days of hire.
• Must possess oral, auditory and written communication skills for interacting with children and adults.
• Must have flexible schedule to work evenings and weekends.
• Must possess basic knowledge of sports.

Responsibilities

• Promotes YMCA core values in all activities.
• Plans and instructs sport drills to grow skills.
• Facilitates informal games and scrimmages.
• Adheres to safety and cleanliness standards.
• Maintains program area and equipment; assists with setup/breakdown.
• Keeps required program records.
• Engages with members to enhance the experience.
• Engages youth in safe, fun, educational activities.
• Listens to concerns and addresses staff and families professionally.
• Reports problems to Sports Director.
• Assists in annual campaign fundraising and events.
• Follows approved instructional curriculum.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings.
• All other duties as assigned.
