Job summary

Euclid Public Library is seeking a Youth Services Associate to provide reference services and run programs for children and young adults. You will engage families, assist with school assignments, and support classroom visits in Euclid, Ohio.

Responsibilities include storytimes, materials curation, displays, and ensuring excellent customer service at all times. The position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and some Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license with acceptable record.
• Experience working with children/young adults preferred.
• Able to arrange items alphanumerically/by subject.
• Able to build rapport with youth, parents and teachers.
• Able to conduct programs for children and teens.
• Commitment to customer service and library policies.
• Knowledge of library operations and materials processing.

Responsibilities

• Answer reference questions in person and by phone.
• Arrange interlibrary loans and reserves.
• Assist patrons in using library equipment.
• Promote services and organize displays.
• Recommend materials to patrons.
• Supervise Youth Services Department in absence of Manager.
• Conduct school and community visits.
• Create program materials for youth services.
