Job summary

Worthington Park Library is seeking a Library Associate to assist patrons in locating materials, provide customer service, and support program delivery. The role requires attention to detail, ability to sort items alphanumerically, and proficiency with library databases and MS Office.

The position is part-time (20 hours) with a focus on Youth Services and occasional Adult Services assignment. Candidates should have a HS diploma or higher and at least one year of customer service experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or a high school diploma or GED and an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• A minimum of one year of customer service experience
• Ability to pass alphanumeric sorting test
• Ability to pass computer skills test

Responsibilities

• Proactively provides customer service
• Interview, researches, and answers questions from patrons
• Recommends materials based on patrons' interests
• Supports Librarians in developing and maintaining the collection
• Maintains periodical collections, including paperwork, tracking claims and weeding
• Assists with planning and presenting library programs and events
• Performs duties of Storytime Associate and Circulation Assistant as needed
