Job summary

The City of Tyler seeks a Youth Services Librarian to coordinate daily operations and lead programs for children, teens, and families. You will guide staff, develop outreach, and collaborate with schools and community partners.

The role requires strong customer service, program development, and organizational skills, with a focus on engaging youth and expanding access to library resources. This position is office-based in Tyler, TX.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in library science or related field required.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in a youth services setting preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 15 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day workflow and programs for the Youth Services Department.
• Provide guidance and training support to Youth Services staff.
• Plan and evaluate programs for children, teens, families and educators.
• Provide reference, reader advisory, and access to library resources.
