The City of Louisville is seeking a Teen Librarian to support the Youth Services Department. This 32-hour-week role covers references, reader’s advisory, instruction, programming, collection development, and outreach to teens and schools.

The position collaborates with multiple departments, tracks program data, and serves as liaison for Youth Advisory Board to enhance community engagement and services.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in library and information science (ALA-accredited) or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of public library experience.
• Experience working with teens preferred.

Responsabilités

• Designs, plans, and delivers engaging teen programs.
• Collaborates across Youth Services and Cultural Services for teen programming.
• Develops partnerships with schools and youth organizations for outreach.
• Represents the Library at events and outreach visits.
• Coordinates teen volunteers and youth leadership opportunities.
• Coordinates program logistics, scheduling, and supplies.
• Promotes programs and resources to teens, families, schools, and partners.
• Develops and promotes teen reading materials and displays.
• Trains staff and volunteers in teen services.
• Acts as Person In Charge on a rotating basis.
