Job summary

Camden County Library seeks a Youth Services Librarian at the South County Regional Branch in Winslow Twp. The role supports youth programming, reference and reader's advisory services, and public computer assistance. The Librarian may serve as Person-in-Charge and may work at other branches as needed.

Requires MLS and NJ Librarian Certificate; Librarian 2 needs one year of professional experience. Salary ranges as described with a 35-hour week and some evening rotations.

Qualifications

• Master's in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program or NJ equivalent.
• NJ Professional Librarian Certificate required or obtained on hire.
• Librarian 2 requires 1 year of professional experience; Librarian 1 requires MLS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and present youth programming including story time and early literacy.
• Provide reference and reader's advisory services to all ages.
• Answer questions in-person, by phone, and by email.
• Assist customers on public computers and with technology/resources.
• Conduct collection development: purchase, weed, maintain area.
• Outreach to schools and local organizations; schedule at other branches as needed.
• Act as Person-in-Charge as needed; assist at circulation desk.
