Job summary

The Camden County Library System seeks an enthusiastic Youth Services Librarian (Librarian 1 or Librarian 2) for Gloucester Township-Blackwood area. Salary varies by Librarian level and experience; Librarian 1 at $28.2356/hr (~$51,389/yr) and Librarian 2 at $29.5883/hr (~$53,851/yr). Eligible for NJ pension, medical benefits, and paid leave.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library or Information Sciences (ALA-accredited) or NJ college program accepted by Thomas Edison State College.
• NJ Professional Librarian Certificate required or to be obtained on hire.

Responsibilities

• Develop and present youth services programming, including story time and other early literacy programs.
• Provide reference and reader’s advisory services to all ages.
• Answer questions in person, over the phone and by email.
• Assist customers on public computers and with technology resources.
• Perform collection development duties: purchasing, weeding, upkeep of the assigned area.
• Proactively conduct community outreach to schools and local organizations.
• Assist at the circulation desk as needed; may be scheduled at other library facilities.
• Act as Person-in-Charge of the branch as needed.
