Job summary

San Diego Center for Children seeks a Recreation Assistant to help develop, organize, and direct recreation programs for youth in residential and adolescent treatment settings. You will support the Recreation Therapy Manager, plan activities, document progress, and help ensure a safe, engaging environment for clients.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, 21+ age, and a California driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Valid California Driver’s License required.
• Experience working with adolescents or children.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or GED Equival ent.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, implementing, and documenting recreation activities.
• Assist in assessing clients’ recreational needs and program planning.
• Maintain equipment and supplies; coordinate with staff and volunteers.
• Support the Recreation Therapy Manager and communicate with staff
• Document program activities and participate in safety and welfare procedures.

Skills

Experience working with adolescents or

Valid California Driver’s License

Education

High School diploma or GED Equivalent

Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) in Recreation Therapy or related field
