View Behavioral Health LLC in Long Beach, CA is hiring a Recreational Assistant to support rehabilitation activity groups under the Director of Social Services. The role emphasizes engaging programming, mobility assistance, and person-centered care in a 79-bed adult inpatient setting.

You will help plan and lead activities that promote socialization, movement, and cognitive stimulation, with a schedule Monday–Friday and occasional evenings/ weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Associate degree in Psychology, Therapeutic Recreation, or Behavioral Science preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of direct service experience in acute behavioral health or inpatient psychiatry.
• CPR, BLS, and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Fluency in English; bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist RT Therapists with rehabilitation activity groups.
• Develop creative ideas for games, crafts, music, exercises, and seasonal events.
• Guide group activities and provide individualized, low-stimulation care.
• Record attendance and log engagement notes for staff.
• Assist residents with mobility needs to activity spaces.
• Maintain a safe, hazard-free environment and monitor safety.
