Job summary

Bend Park and Recreation District is the largest childcare provider in Central Oregon. The Youth Rec Team Lead provides leadership for assigned youth recreation programs while also serving in a front-line lead role, ensuring safe and rewarding recreation and enrichment opportunities for youth.

This part-time position supports afterschool programming (Kid's Inc. Afterschool) with 25–32 hours per week during school sessions, including specific daily schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college courses preferred.
• One year of experience in area of responsibility or similar tasks.
• Any satisfactory combination of education, experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned youth recreation programs and participants, staff and volunteers.
• Oversee the safety of participants in youth programs.
• Provide leadership, training, mentoring, and assign work.
• Plan, organize, implement and supervise developmentally appropriate activities including SEL and STEM.
• Communicate with school staff, principals, office staff and teachers.
• Identify and direct needed staff and equipment.
• Monitor program budgets and expenditures.
• Attend supervisory and planning meetings.
• Interact with youth through crafts, games and planned activities.
• Facilitate inclusion of participants with special needs.
