Job summary

The City of Pasadena is seeking a Recreation Attendant I to support the Parks and Recreation Department in developing, implementing, supervising and evaluating youth programs for ages 8 to 18. You will help maintain a safe, welcoming environment and assist with a variety of events.

You will model positive behavior, engage with participants and guardians, and coordinate activities while ensuring facilities are ready for weekend rentals and special events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Texas Driver's License and a good driving record.
• Food Manager Certification to be obtained within six months of hire.
• CPR/First Aid/AED Certification to be obtained within one year of hire.
• PREFERRED: Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) and experience with children/youth and public-facing roles.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, implementing, supervising, and evaluating recreational programs for youth ages 8–18.
• Plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate activities (sports, arts/crafts, outdoor recreation, field trips).
• Open and close community centers and facilities per policy; maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Support events and citywide activities (e.g., Movies in the Park, 4th Fest, Monster Mash).
• Provide excellent customer service and address participant concerns professionally.
