Job summary

The City of Pasadena, Texas seeks a Recreation Attendant I to support the Parks and Recreation Department in developing, implementing, supervising, and evaluating youth programs for ages 8 to 18. This role helps create a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment that fosters participation, growth, and positive social interaction.

You will plan and lead activities across sports, arts and crafts, outdoor recreation, and field trips; supervise participants; and help maintain clean, safe facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Texas Driver's License with good driving record.
• Food Manager Certification to be obtained within six months.
• CPR/First Aid/AED Certification to be obtained within one year.
• Bi-Lingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Experience with children or youth in recreational, educational, or community settings preferred.
• Experience assisting with events or group activities preferred.
• Customer service or public-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of recreational programs for youth ages 8 to 18.
• Plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate activities including sports, arts and crafts, outdoor recreation, and field trips.
• Open and close facilities and maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment.
• Supervise participant behavior and address conflicts in a professional manner.
• Prepare weekly program plans, attendance records, and required reports.
• Assist with program planning, budget development, supply requests, and equipment justification.
• Support larger events such as Monster Mash, 4th Fest, and Easter Egg Hunt.
• Assist with program registrations and respond to inquiries regarding programs and rentals.
