Job summary

City of Edinburg is seeking a Recreation Program Coordinator to support indoor, outdoor, arts, crafts, and youth programs. The role involves supervising facilities, ensuring safety, and coordinating community activities with park staff. May lead others and provide direction as needed.

Requires a high school diploma (or GED) and the ability to work with the public, follow city policies, and manage program logistics. Bilingual preferred and CPR/First Aid certification encouraged.

Qualifications

  • Own transportation preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions and directions.
  • Good public relations ability.
  • Learn and become knowledgeable with departmental and city rules/regulations.
  • Bookkeeping and management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and organize registrations, supplies and special events.
  • Maintain facilities and monitor park and building for safety.
  • Attend in services and weekly staff meetings.
  • Assist in implementation of Community Recreation Programs.
  • Assist in team sports practices and tournaments.
  • Assist in implementing special events.
  • Perform physical and manual work.
  • Plan and coordinate activities with supervisor and co-workers.
  • Prepare for and attend staff meetings as needed.
  • Assist other staff as assigned.
  • Implement programs assigned.
  • Familiarize self with city rules and policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
