Job summary

Town of Minden seeks a Recreation Leader to create a safe, fun environment for youth in before/after-school and summer programs. You’ll plan activities, prep snacks, supervise staff, and guide kids through routines and off-site adventures.

The role requires morning and afternoon shifts and is ongoing year-round. It emphasizes safety, organization, and positive engagement with children and guardians in our community.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and one (1) year of experience leading recreational activities.
• OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and conduct recreation programs for youth; supervise camps and off-site trips.
• Maintain rosters, attendance records, time cards, and emergency contacts; ensure children are picked up as authorized.
• Receive funds at events; manage inventory of supplies and snacks; assist with shopping/ordering.
• Inspect facilities for safety; keep areas clean and organized; address spills and hazards.
• Prepare materials, snacks, and equipment; set up rooms for activities; operate AV equipment as needed.
• Coordinate activities; supervise and train staff; plan schedules and attend meetings.
