Job summary

The City of Bellevue, Washington is seeking a positive Youth Recreation Lead to run youth programs for ages 5–13 at Bellevue community sites and parks. You’ll direct staff, ensure engaging activities, and coordinate recreation and sports experiences across multiple locations, including Crossroads Community Center and nearby parks.

This is a part-time role (15–20 hours/week) with afternoon, evening, and some weekend shifts; summer opportunities may expand to camps for ages 7–13 (20–40

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in parks, recreation, or related field.
• Comfortable working with diverse youth and teen populations.
• High school diploma or GED; college coursework preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check.
• First Aid/CPR required for summer camp assignments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, oversee, and implement parks, recreation, and community services programs.
• Lead daily Youth Sports program operations including preparation and check-in.
• Supervise youth participants; provide instruction and positive engagement.
• Coach youth basketball and/or soccer; lead practices and games.
• Assist with program setup, safety compliance, and registrations.
• Maintain equipment, inventory, and customer service.
• Attend staff trainings and coordinate with volunteers.
