Job summary

The City of Kirkland is seeking Recreation Leads to support day, evening, and weekend operations at the Kirkland Teen Union Building. This seasonal role performs clerical tasks, minor maintenance and cleaning, provides excellent customer service, and leads Recreation Attendants in projects engaging youth up to age 17.

The hours are up to 17 per week with varied shifts; summer opportunities may add on-call hours.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience working with youth.
• 6 months experience in customer service
• Applicants must posses or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification prior to position start date

Responsibilities

• Engage and role model engaging with teens during drop-in hours in various activities.
• Engage with preschool-aged youth and their caregivers.
• Lead and assist with programs, special events, classes, and activities offered during teen drop-in hours.
• Set up and take down equipment and furniture for programs, events, and drop-in hours.
• Greet and assist program participants and the public in person and over the phone.
