Job summary

City of Pasadena seeks a Part-Time Recreation Attendant to supervise youth at City Recreation Centers, facilitating activities and supporting daily operations within the Parks and Recreation Department.

The role requires evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events availability. Responsibilities include sign-in, attendance tracking, event support, food program assistance, and delivering excellent customer service to families and participants.

Qualifications

• N/A. PREFERRED: Prior experience working with children or youth in a recreational, educational, or community setting.
• Experience assisting with special events or group activities.
• Customer service or public-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children and youth participants to ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive recreational experience.
• Engage participants in activities such as board and table games, sports, arts and crafts, and indoor/outdoor recreation.
• Monitor participant behavior and mediate conflicts using appropriate behavior management techniques.
• Maintain accurate participant sign-in sheets for game rooms, programs, and activities; assist with registration and attendance tracking.
• Assist with the Summer Food Program, ensuring compliance with ServSafe standards in food prep areas.
• Plan and facilitate recreational activities according to schedules; develop program plans and assist with implementation.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment; report damaged or missing items; submit supply requests with justification.
• Assist with opening/closing procedures and keep facilities clean and orderly; provide excellent customer service to patrons.
