Job summary

IRCO seeks SUN Support Staff to assist in after-school programs at multiple Portland area school sites. You will help run enrichment activities, support classroom management, and assist with homework and family engagement as part of SUN Community Schools.

Position is hourly, on-call without benefits, with flexible session schedules. Must pass background checks; experience with youth and strong communication skills are desirable. Training will occur to align with school district safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Must pass criminal background check through Oregon Department of Education.
• 18 years or older; High School degree preferred; experience with youth in groups of 15+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow school district and IRCO safety protocols related to working with youth in school communities.
• Create, develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum for youth enrichment classes (art, sports, cooking, science, music, writing).
• Record and report attendance to SUN Manager.
• Encourage and assist youth with homework.
• Provide culturally responsive communication with students and families; communicate with SUN Site Manager and parents about student progress.
