Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Waukesha County in Wauwatosa, WI is seeking a full-time Before and After School, 4K Wrap and Camp Specialist to supervise youth ages 4-13 across YBASE, 4K Wrap, Camp, and SOFD programs. The role transitions to a day camp counselor in the summer.

Under the supervision of the Before and After School Care & Camp Director, you will plan activities, ensure safety, collaborate with staff and schools, and maintain participant records with YMCA values guiding all actions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 240 hours of experience in an approved education setting.
• Completion of school-age growth and development course within 2 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage youth in YBASE, 4K Wrap, Camp, and SOFD programs.
• Develop developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities.
• Ensure child safety and positive behavior guidance across sites.
• Fulfilling summer camp counselor responsibilities as needed.
• Maintain organized space and records per department requirements.
• Collaborate with staff, families, and school district partners.

Education
