Job summary

YMCA of Greater Waukesha County is seeking a Site Supervisor for our Before and After School Care (Y BASE) program in Greenfield, WI. The role oversees staff, plans age-appropriate activities, and guides program quality year-round, transitioning to day camp in summers.

The candidate will build strong relationships with children, families and schools, ensure safety, maintain records, and participate in required trainings and staff meetings.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with 240 hours of experience in an approved education setting.
• Must meet licensing requirements and have CPR/First Aid/AED certifications or the ability to obtain them.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and build positive relationships.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and participate in daily activities for youth before and after school.
• Serve as on-site supervisor of Y BASE staff and camp programs when applicable.
• Lead day camp during summer months as assigned.
• Manage materials, supplies, and equipment for activities.
• Develop positive relationships with staff, families, and children and handle conferences/complaints politely.
• Coordinate with local school district administration to align programming with policies.
• Maintain participant records and ensure safety and cleanliness of spaces.
• Follow YMCA emergency procedures and uphold core values of caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; perform other duties as assigned.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

2 DCF-approved courses in early childhood education or school-age equivalent

48 credits in higher education with at least 3 in early childhood education or school-age growth and development

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education

Child Development Associate credential

School-Age Program Leader credential (Wisconsin Registry)
