Job summary

Thread is seeking a Program Manager in Baltimore, MD to design and execute strategies that help young people complete high school and pursue post‑secondary pathways. You will lead campaigns, build partnerships with high schools, and develop staff and volunteers to support student outcomes.

The role requires 3–5 years of project management, a commitment to equity, and strong communication skills. Evening/weekend availability is expected to support program activities and community engagement.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of successful project and program management experience with a focus on building and developing teams, data input, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Commitment to equity and inclusion through an intersectional lens, including experience navigating or coaching others through a racial equity journey.
  • Experience with diverse people, processes, and projects with accountability to student outcomes.
  • Highly responsive, adaptive communication style; ability to inspire individuals or groups of all sizes.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and embody Thread’s core values and competencies.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Recognition of how race and other identities intersect and play out in the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement campaigns such as Camp, monthly community service, and threadHOURS®.
  • Build and execute strategy to keep assigned high‑school students on track for high‑school completion and for 2/4‑year degree programs.
  • Design and implement programming that builds capacity of staff, volunteers, and young people for meaningful relationships and goal attainment.
  • Collect, verify, and analyze students’ academic data and distribute it to volunteers and students to monitor progress and intervene proactively when credit recovery is needed.
  • Plan and execute key student transition periods, including new‑student enrollment and the transition from high school to post‑high‑school.
  • Develop, manage, and assist with additional programs and projects as needed to achieve organizational outcomes.
  • Develop, maintain, and deploy resources for volunteers and young people across channels (mobile app, guide, email, etc.).
  • Collaborate with other functional teams to support volunteers and students.
  • Ensure community compliance with budgets, policies, and procedures.
