Job summary

The Youth Development Professional at Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania will work hands-on with youth to implement curriculum and programming on a day-to-day basis. This role supervises and ensures safety of participants and builds relationships, following DHS Chapter 3270 regulations and BGCA safety requirements.

Onboarding includes health physicals, TB test, references, clearances, mandated reporter certification, DHS training, and CPR/First Aid within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2500 hours of experience working with children.
• Interest in youth programs including technology, art, sports, STEM, mentoring and recreation.
• Proficient in Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Create and support the facilitation of meaningful lesson plans and activities for all youth served.
• Implement educational programming including STEAM, mentoring, athletics, literacy and activities.
• Ensure the safety of all program participants while in care.
• Encourage participation in clubhouse community events.
• Promote and stimulate membership in the Clubhouse through programs, services, and outreach activities.
• Participate in monthly incentive programs focusing on literacy, STEM, art, mentoring, athletics and social/emotional learning.
