Job summary

The Youth Development Professional at Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania will work hands-on with youth to implement curriculum and programming, supervise safety, and build positive relationships. This role ensures compliance with DHS Chapter 3270 Regulations and BGCA safety requirements.

The position involves coordinating diverse youth programs, promoting inclusive participation, and collaborating with volunteers and staff while maintaining a safe, welcoming Clubhouse environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 2,500 hours working with children.
• Interest in programs including technology, art, sports, STEM, mentoring and recreation.
• Proficient in Google Suite.
• Physical demands: lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull, climb stairs, stand/sit, bend and dexterous tasks.
• Must complete health physical and TB test.
• Three references required at hire.
• Clearances ACT 33/34/151 and NSOR letter.
• Mandated Reporter Certification within 45 days of hire.
• 10 hours of DHS training (virtual acceptable).
• CPR and Pediatric First Aid within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Create and support the facilitation of meaningful lesson plans and activities for all youth served.
• Implement educational programming to include STEAM, mentoring, athletics, literacy and activities.
• Ensure the safety of all program participants while in care.
• Encourage participation in clubhouse community events.
• Promote and stimulate membership in the Clubhouse through programs, services, and outreach activities.
• Observe and report maintenance and safety concerns to the Clubhouse director.
