Job summary

The Garden, operated on the St. Luke's Gethsemane campus in Houston, seeks an Associate Director to design, coordinate, and facilitate programming for youth ages 12-24.

The role blends daytime operational support with evening leadership during programming hours, fostering a safe, inclusive environment. Responsibilities include creating workshops across health, knowledge, and art, coordinating with facilitators, engaging families, recruiting volunteers, and tracking attendance for evaluation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in education, social work, youth development, nonprofit management, or related field.
• Teaching certification or classroom experience welcomed and relevant.

Responsibilities

• Design and facilitate age-appropriate, culturally responsive workshops across three focus areas: health, knowledge, art.
• Coordinate with external facilitators and partners to deliver diverse programming.
• Maintain a consistent program schedule and ensure sessions are well-prepared and aligned with goals.
• Engage members, support families, recruit new members, and connect youths to resources as needed.
• Recruit and support volunteers; foster partnerships and coordinate with community partners.
• Maintain attendance records and contribute to program evaluations and reporting.
• Co-plan events and represent The Garden at community events and partner convenings.
• Assist with daytime operations and serve as staff lead during evening programming hours.
