Job summary

The Poarch Creek Indians, Alabama’s only Federally Recognized Tribe, invite applications for a Youth Activities Worker to supervise after-school and summer programs. This regular part-time role focuses on safety, structured activities, and positive youth engagement within the Boys & Girls Club department.

Responsibilities include supervising participants, planning activities, maintaining records, and adhering to program policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Six (6) months of full-time employment experience working with young children
  • Must possess First Aid/CPR certification or obtain within ninety (90) days of employment
  • Must be eighteen (18) years old or older
  • Ability to work odd and irregular hours
  • Must pass criminal and character background check
  • Ability to travel and participate in required training and events

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety and well-being of all participants
  • Supervise and engage youth in daily activities (indoor/outdoor)
  • Maintain a positive, structured environment using behavior management strategies
  • Build strong relationships with youth, families, and staff
  • Assist with planning activities and maintaining records
  • Monitor for safety concerns and report issues as needed
  • Follow program policies and communicate concerns to supervisors

Skills
