Job summary

YMCA of Southwest Florida in Venice, FL, is seeking staff for the Before/After School Program and Summer Camp to provide direct care, supervision and enriching activities for participating children. Under supervision of the Program Director and Site Coordinator, you will help create a safe, engaging environment.

You will implement age-appropriate activities, monitor safety, document attendance and incidents, and maintain open communication with families and caregivers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or age 18+
• State of Florida Level 2 background screening required
• Prior experience working with children
• Adhere to drug/alcohol/smoke-free workplace policy
• Maintain confidentiality
• Positive attitude and teamwork
• Employment contingent upon background screening through Florida Clearinghouse

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and supervision for participants in Before/After School and Summer Camp
• Deliver age-appropriate activities and encourage participation
• Maintain safety and follow emergency procedures
• Document attendance, absences and incidents per state requirements
• Communicate with caregivers to build trust and cooperation
• Present a positive role model and reinforce program guidelines
