Job summary

The Police Athletic League Inc is seeking a Part Time Group Leader to support afterschool activities including SEL, dance, sports, STEAM, and literacy. You will report to the COMPASS or SONYC Director and help implement PAL curricula in a safe, inclusive environment.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED (associates preferred), at least two years in nonprofit youth work, strong classroom and behavior management, and good communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associates degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years' work experience in a nonprofit agency working with youth.
• Strong classroom and behavior management skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish, French, or Chinese preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and support a wide variety of afterschool activities including SEL, dance, sports, STEAM, life skills development, literacy, leadership, performing arts, visual arts, and college and career readiness.
• Build positive relationships with youth, caretakers, and staff; model respectful behavior and effective communication.
• Attend required trainings, meetings, and events; follow PAL curricula and safety policies.
