Job summary

Police Athletic League, Inc. in New York City seeks Part Time Group Leaders to support afterschool activities including SEL, dance, sports, STEAM, literacy, leadership, and college readiness. The Group Leader reports to the Elementary or Middle School Director and works with the Content Specialist.

Position is 15 hours weekly (3 hours/day, 5 days). Requires a high school diploma or GED (associates preferred), 18+ years old, two years’ nonprofit youth experience, strong classroom and behavior

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associates degree preferred.
• 18 years of age or older with two years' youth experience in nonprofit.
• Strong classroom and behavior management skills; willingness to learn SEL.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish, French, or Chinese preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support afterschool activities including SEL, dance, sports, STEAM, life skills, literacy, leadership, performing arts, and college readiness.
• Report to Elementary or Middle School Director and collaborate with Content Specialist.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for youth.
