Job summary

Buckner Children and Family Services is seeking a Child and Youth Coordinator for the Family Hope Center Program in Longview, TX. This full-time onsite role focuses on empowering youth and children by linking families to local resources and coordinating on-site/off-site activities.

You will develop leadership opportunities for youth, coordinate events, and build partnerships with schools and community organizations to support program goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required.
• Minimum two years prior related experience required.
• Minimum one-year prior related experience providing community-based services, youth and children programs.
• Willingness to take CPR, First Aid and specialized activity training.
• Knowledge of youth and children community resources and related services.
• Understanding of applicable regulatory standards governing programs and services.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive; provide liability insurance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, 10 lbs continuously.
• Ability to walk, stand and sit for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Discuss needs of children and youth with Family Coach and connect with empowerment resources via local agencies and volunteers.
• Assist youth and children in accessing onsite programs and other services; navigate eligibility requirements.
• Develop and manage a system to coordinate on-site and off-site programs and communication among sponsors.
• Develop leadership opportunities for children and youth and assist with enrollments and school registrations.
• Build relationships with institutions and community organizations to guide program development and implementation.
• Assess needs and concerns; research and recruit programs addressing identified needs.
• Coordinate regular events (sports camps, youth leadership, camps, Bible Schools) and lead empowerment activities.
• Organize and coordinate a comprehensive children and youth program with area schools.
• Maintain a master calendar of volunteer and campus activities; notify staff of events.
