Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Los Angeles in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Youth Development Professional to support planning, promotion, implementation and evaluation of programs at the Watts Willowbrook Club. You will lead activities in art, athletics, and academics and provide supervision to members.

The role engages club members, collaborates with staff and volunteers, and participates in team meetings. Evening and weekend hours follow the school calendar; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; two years of college preferred.
• Experience working with youth and knowledge of youth development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check.
• CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements, monitors and evaluates programs to ensure safety and quality.
• Creates an environment that facilitates Youth Development Outcomes.
• Recognizes members for participation and achievement.
• Maintains attendance and participation records.
• Promotes and stimulates program participation.
• Orients new member programs, events, and rules.
• Provides guidance and role modeling to members.
• Participates in training and staff meetings.
• Monitors facilities and supplies, and coordinates repairs as needed.
• Supervises and trains volunteers and program assistants.
