Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Coastal Carolina seeks a Site Coordinator to prepare members for on-time grade promotion by creating engaging educational activities and providing homework help tailored to diverse learning styles.

You will monitor programs, supervise staff and volunteers, and coordinate with schools and families to ensure a safe, productive environment across BGCA spaces. The role emphasizes strong communication and event leadership.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma and/or Associates Degree, or equivalent experience working with youth.
• Knowledge of trends in education, career exploration, and educational planning.
• Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth; supervise members in a safe environment.
• Strong computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft programs.
• Licenses/Certifications: CPR/First Aid and driver's license; background checks.

Responsibilities

• Learn members' names and build positive relationships with youth.
• Recruit members to participate and lead energetic activities.
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and role modeling to Members; support youth in following Club Rules.
• Implement activities with high energy to maximize participation and teach Five Key Elements for Positive Youth Development.
• Develop and administer educational activities for members of various ages; adapt to different learning styles.
• Monitor and evaluate programs; track attendance and data; prepare reports and grant reports.
• Review grades; identify strengths/challenges; create lesson plans and tutoring sessions; liaise with school staff.
• Collaborate with other Club staff on programs and events; work with community organizations.
• Implement youth development activities in Core Areas: Character & Leadership, Education & Career Development, Health & Life Skills, The Arts, Sports & Fitness, Recreation.
• Ensure activities are inclusive for all abilities and both genders.
• Supervise members on field trips and assist with special events like Family Nights.
• Strive for professionalism in communication, motivation, and interpersonal skills with members, peers, parents, volunteers, and public.
• Contribute to policy/standard compliance and internal communications.
• Assist with tracking participation and reporting; suggest program modifications.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and ensure health/safety protocols are followed.
• Maintain daily contact with Club staff, members, and supervisor to share information and resolve issues.
• Maintain external contacts with community groups and schools to support programming.
• Complete all required BGCA courses and participate in special programs/events.
• Undertake janitorial or manual tasks as needed; may drive Club van occasionally.
