Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking a Program Assistant (youth programs) to nurture children through structured activities and build positive relationships with families. It requires 16+ years of age, a high school diploma or equivalent, and current First Aid/CPR certifications.

Qualifications

• Age 16 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent; school-issued work permit required for employees under 18.
• Current approved First Aid; Adult, Infant and Child CPR Certifications. Completion of child abuse prevention training prior to first day in program.

Responsibilities

• Nurtures children through purposeful programming to build achievement and belonging.
• Maintains close supervision of assigned children per program ratios.
• Follows safety, reporting, and disciplinary procedures; supports inclusion and ADA compliance.
• Cultivates positive parent relationships and engages families as volunteers.
• Attends trainings, staff meetings and events as required.
