Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory seeks a Corps & Youth Program Assistant for Honokaa Corps, Hawaii. You will assist in planning and developing youth programs including Sunday school, after-school activities, camps, and YPL.

Under the Corps Officer's supervision, you will help with curriculum, coordinate volunteers, and support community outreach and family engagement. This is a ministry position emphasizing faith and service.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver's license and pass background checks.
• Computer proficiency: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
• Able to communicate via email.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Follow Protecting the Mission policies.
• Motivated, self-starting and dependable.
• Team player with a professional demeanor.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist with curriculum and lead or assist with Youth programs (Troops, Singing Company, Bible Bowl, Junior Soldiers, Corps Cadets, Sunday School).
• Assist with homework labs and support volunteer staff.
• Plan youth events to expand ministry and invite community.
• Supervise Divisional Youth Rally and Divisional Music Camp weekends.
• Help plan and supervise fundraising for camps, trips and YPL.
• Support family/school events for youth participants.
• Develop contests/incentives to increase youth programs.
• Make home visits to invite families to church activities.
• Develop volunteer involvement in the youth department.
• Attend youth camps (on Oahu at Camp Homelani).
• Assist Corps Officers with Back-to-School, Christmas Kettle and Angel Tree campaigns.
• Maintain statistical data.
• Other duties as assigned.
