Job summary

The Salvation Army Honokaa Corps in Hawaii seeks a Corps & Youth Program Assistant to help plan, prepare, and develop all youth-related programs across Hawaii County, including Sunday school, after-school activities, YPL, camps, and troops.

Responsibilities include assisting with curriculum, coordinating events, supervising youth activities, and supporting family engagement while upholding Salvation Army policies and values.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required and ability to drive Salvation Army vehicles (including a 15-passenger van) and pass background checks.
• Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
• Ability to communicate via email.
• Maintain confidentiality of matters and materials.
• Must learn and observe all Protecting the Mission policies (child safety procedures).
• Must be motivated, self-starter and a dependable team player.
• Has a valid high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and development of TSA youth programs (Sunday school, after school programs, YPL, camps, troops).
• Assist with duties assigned by Corps Officer for programs within Hawaii County.
• Lead or assist with youth curriculum and activities including Troops, Singing Company, Bible Bowl Team, Junior Soldiers, Corps Cadets, and Sunday School.
• Support homework labs and assist volunteers/retired teachers.
• Plan youth events to expand ministry and invite the community.
• Supervise Divisional Youth Rally and Divisional Music Camp weekends.
