Job summary

Downtown Boise YMCA is seeking a Youth Activity Staff member to assist with planning, leading, and implementing youth program experiences in a group setting. The role focuses on safety, participant development, and constructive skill-building while fostering inclusive, supportive interactions with youth and parents.

The position is part-time with weekend and evening hours, offering a base pay of $13.65 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Experience with children preferred, especially in youth programs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage diverse participants.

Responsibilities

• Develop intentional relationships with participants and communicate with parents daily.
• Create a safe environment by supervising participants and modeling safe behaviors.
• Address concerns and follow incident response procedures as needed.
• Organize and supervise youth activities that are engaging and appropriate for various weather conditions.

Education

CPR/AED

First Aid Certification

High school diploma or equivalent
