Job summary

Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library is seeking a part-time Youth Services Library Assistant I to support children and caregivers with library services. The role involves assisting with early literacy, outreach programs, and the Summer Reading Program.

Under the Youth Services Supervisor, you will help in a busy public service desk environment, focusing on friendly, helpful service and adherence to library policies.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of basic computer operations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist Youth Services Supervisor with early literacy and outreach programs.
• Support Summer Reading and other special programs.
• Provide friendly library services at the public service desk, including reference and reader’s advisory.
