Job summary

The Glen Ridge Public Library is seeking an energetic and creative part-time Library Assistant to join our active youth services department. You will lead programming for birth through high school, assist with the juvenile and YA collections, and liaise with local schools, while delivering outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities include weekly programming, assisting with the YA collection, outreach to schools, and performing circulation duties.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Highly creative with ability to plan, promote, and execute youth programs.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide weekly in-house programming for children and teens.
• Assist with the young adult collection and create engaging displays.
• Liaise with middle/high schools and coordinate outreach.
• Provide outstanding customer service and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
• Handle circulation duties including check in/out, holds, patron accounts, fines, shelves, and catalog search.
• Answer phone calls and perform other duties as assigned.
