Job summary

The Glen Ridge Public Library is seeking a Part-Time Youth Services Library Assistant to join our active youth services team. The role focuses on planning programs for children and teens, managing juvenile/YA collections, and serving as a liaison with local schools.

Strong creativity and comfort with technology are essential, along with excellent customer service. Responsibilities include weekly programming, assisting with collections and displays, outreach to schools, and routine circulation

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Must be highly creative with the ability to plan, budget, promote, and execute programs of high interest to children and teens.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication; friendly and energetic demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide weekly in-house programming for birth through high school audiences.
• Assist with juvenile/YA collections, including recommendations and displays.
• Outreach and liaison with middle and high schools.
• Provide outstanding customer service at the youth services desk.
• Perform circulation tasks: check in/out, holds, patron accounts, fines, shelving, catalog search.
