Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Youth Development Professional for the Red Shield Youth Center in San Antonio, TX. This role supports program activities for youth, focusing on academic success, healthy living, and character development.

The position may oversee special programs and coordinate events, with supervisory duties in the absence of the Program Coordinator. Building strong relationships with members and families is essential to advance our mission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with children and youth preferred.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, supervises members and evaluates activities within a program area, supporting Boys & Girls Club priority outcomes (Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character and Citizenship).
• Oversee special programs/events (Keystone, Youth of the Year, Awards Programs) and participate in other unit activities as necessary.
• If Program Coordinator is absent, provide supervision oversight to other Youth Development Professionals to ensure continuity of services.
• Builds and maintains a professional relationship with all Club members and their families to advance The Salvation Army's mission.
