Job summary

Friends of the Children in Tampa, FL seeks dedicated mentors for intimate, long-term youth support. You will spend one-to-one time with each child, partner with families, and help develop life skills and academic progress within a structured program.

The role requires flexibility for afternoons and evenings and a commitment to the youth’s wellbeing and growth. You will document activities, collaborate with teams, and participate in ongoing evaluations to ensure positive outcomes for every child

Qualifications

• This role requires developing caring, trusting relationships with eight to ten children.
• Effective partnership with parents/caregivers to support families.
• Strong communication, organization, and time management are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain long-term relationships with each child.
• Spend time with children one-to-one and provide supports.
• Collaborate with families to support educational and social needs.
• Set goals based on each child’s strengths and needs.
• Ensure documentation and timely reporting of activities and plans.
• Attend staff functions and maintain required certifications.
