Job summary

Embark Behavioral Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Associate (Youth Mentor) to join a trauma‑informed residential program for adolescent girls aged 12–17. You will provide direct support in a high‑acuity environment, helping teens regulate emotions, stay safe, and engage in therapeutic routines alongside therapists and nurses.

You will model healthy boundaries, maintain calm presence, and collaborate with the care team to promote progress and safety in daily activities and crisis situations.

Qualifications

• High-acuity response required in residential setting.
• Ability to regulate emotions and set healthy boundaries.
• Willingness to learn and grow; interest in adolescent mental health is encouraged, even without direct experience.

Responsibilities

• Daily routines: support students with structured schedules and activities.
• Crisis intervention: verbal de-escalation and, when necessary, approved holds/restraints to ensure safety.
• Crisis prevention and risk reduction; align student progress with treatment plans.
• Model constructive behaviors and maintain a positive environment for clients.
• Maintain thorough documentation of interactions, incidents, and progress.
• Engage with the team to foster teamwork and community.
• Perform light housekeeping to keep living spaces organized.

  • 10:00am - 10:00pm

Embark at Springville is seeking Behavioral Health Associates (Youth Mentor)to join our trauma‑informed residential program for adolescent girls (ages 12–17). In this role, you’ll provide direct support in a high‑acuity environment—helping clients regulate emotions, maintain safety, and engage in therapeutic routines. You’ll collaborate with therapists and nurses, model healthy boundaries, and be a steady presence for teens working through trauma, anxiety, depression, and family challenges.

Responsibilities

• Daily routines: Support students in following structured schedules and activities with encouragement and accountability.
• Crisis intervention: Use verbal de‑escalation techniques to manage emotional or behavioral escalations; apply approved physical interventions (holds/restraints) when clinically necessary to ensure safety.
• Crisis prevention: Apply proactive strategies to reduce risk and provide crisis management when necessary.
• Treatment alignment: Ensure student progress aligns with individualized treatment plans developed by therapists.
• Positive modeling: Model constructive behaviors and attitudes, reinforcing a healthy environment for clients.
• Documentation: Maintain consistent, thorough records of client interactions, incidents, and progress.
• Team engagement: Participate in staff and house bonding activities to foster teamwork and community cohesion.
• Housekeeping tasks: Perform light daily tasks to maintain a clean, organized living space.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

• High‑acuity response: Comfortable managing verbal/physical outbursts and emotional dysregulation in a residential setting.

• Emotional regulation: Demonstrated ability to maintain composure and set firm, healthy boundaries.

• Growth mindset: Willingness to learn and grow; candidates with strong boundary‑setting and passion for adolescent mental health are encouraged to apply, even without direct experience!

• Adolescent experience: Background working with adolescents in behavioral health, residential, or crisis environments preferred.

Required:

• 21+ years of age or older
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen
• Able to pass criminal investigation background check
• Current driver's license
• Ability to learn CPR and First-Aid.
