Job summary

Embark Behavioral Health in Benton, Tennessee seeks a Life Coach / Behavioral Health Associate to mentor adolescent males (12–17) in a residential treatment program. This on-site, full-time role emphasizes hands-on activities including art, music, yoga, hiking, fitness, and outdoor therapy within a multidisciplinary team.

The position requires empathy, patience, and a commitment to safety and skill-building in a structured setting.

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age or older.
• Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associates or bachelor's in human services, psychology, criminal justice, or related field preferred.
• Skills: Quick decision-making skills and a growth mindset with a focus on Embark's core values.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience with adolescent populations preferred.
• Certifications: CPR and First Aid preferred; training provided.
• Background Checks: Must pass pre-employment drug screen and federal/state background checks as per Tennessee laws.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe boundaries and relationships with students and staff, using verbal de-escalation or physical intervention as needed.
• Serve as a positive role model and encourage engagement in activities of daily living and coping skills.
• Collaborate with Team Leads and Shift Supervisors to plan schedules, ensure safety, and support campus operations.
• Provide support during classroom instruction, campus events, and recreation therapy, actively engaging with students and staff.
• Communicate observations to the Program Director for timely updates.
• Document client progress notes daily at end of each shift to track progress and continuity of care.
• Respond to feedback with a positive outlook while maintaining a safe and empathetic environment for students.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D required. Associates or bachelor's in human services, psychology, criminal justice, or related field is preferred.

• Certifications:CPR and First Aid certification preferred, will provide training
