Job summary

Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston is seeking a Kitchen Assistant in South Boston, MA to support the safe and timely preparation and service of meals for Club members. The role assists the Culinary Program Manager with food preparation, sanitation, recordkeeping, and other kitchen operations.

Responsibilities include following menus and dietary accommodations, maintaining records, and ensuring a clean, organized kitchen while upholding safety standards to support youth development and program meals.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, food safety, and sanitation practices.
• Experience in food service, meal preparation, kitchen operations, or a similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals and snacks to Club members ages 6-18 following menus, portions, and dietary procedures.
• Maintain daily meal counts, temperature logs, production records, and other documentation; report issues promptly.
• Assist in supervising members in kitchen/cafeteria activities and maintain a safe, clean kitchen environment.
