Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. in Hartford, CT is seeking an Education and Workforce Readiness Instructor to engage youth in education and workforce programming, delivering Life Skills, CBT, Harm Reduction, and Parenting content under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Programming.

You design weekly and monthly programming, assess progress, organize schedules, and maintain data in the ETO system while building relationships with participants and partners to promote re-engagement and job

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 1-3 years of teaching experience.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• ESL teaching experience preferred but not required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Desire to work with street involved high risk young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide weekly attendance and participant target lists for educational classes to youth workers in team check-ins and meetings.
• Conduct general and targeted outreach to young people to increase participation in programming.
• Engage in CBT based contacts with participants to help them identify and learn skills to shift negative behavioral cycles.
• Design and deliver programming for young people at various levels of readiness to engage in learning.
• Monitor program data and create target lists for programming completion.
• Maintain relationships with key partners and networks to inform best practices in educational programming.
