Child & Family in Rhode Island seeks a Life Skills Coach to support Semi-Independent Living and Independent Living Programs. You will work with the client’s treatment team to develop individualized plans for transition to permanence and independence, focusing on life skills, vocational training, financial and educational goal attainment, and community integration.

The role is hybrid with 20% remote work, requiring an associate degree and at least 1 year in human services.

Qualifikationen

• Associate degree in social work, psychology, or related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Human Services, housing services, and/or homeless services.
• Statewide travel is required.
• Strong organizational, critical thinking and time-management skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.

Aufgaben

• Facilitate individual and group life skills trainings, tailoring trainings to each client and updating curriculum as needed.
• Assess client’s learning capabilities and problem-solving skills.
• Apply resources to designed curriculum to meet client needs.
• Build professional relationships with community stakeholders (parents, DCYF, schools, etc.).
• Communicate with treatment team to support self-sufficiency and employment/education goals.
• Prioritize and implement solutions for clients with differing abilities.
• Collaborate with outside workforce organizations and refer clients to community resources for job placement.
• Cultivate a trauma-informed environment with empathetic, confidential interactions.
